The holding company at VERBUND is the strategic heart of VERBUND power plant operations. Here we define the VERBUND framework, which is filled with lots of energy and enthusiasm from our more than 3,000 employees. Our central European headquarters in Vienna enables us to position ourselves transnationally and to drive forward the transition to clean energy on an international basis.

Digitalisation, Information Security and IT
The Digitalisation, Information Security and IT department of the holding company at VERBUND is responsible for all aspects of digitalisation, IT and telecommunications technologies. Be it basic infrastructure, support for various IT topics or support for initiatives throughout the VERBUND Group – we drive technology projects involving the latest issues and go all out for our vision. Interesting key topics include IoT, digital power plants and the Security Operation Centre, to name but a few!

Corporate Development
The Corporate Development department takes a holistic approach, starting with analysing and modelling energy dynamics, developing and adapting the Group’s strategy, identifying and acquiring potential targets, and finally implementing the strategy and transforming the company. Our 2030 strategy paves the way for the long overdue transition to clean energy: We strive to cultivate new lines of business, develop new markets and become active in new regions across Europe.

Controlling, Corporate Accounting and Risk Management
The Controlling, Corporate Accounting and Risk Management department of the holding company at VERBUND exercises a consulting role within all commercial matters. We ensure up-to-date and consistent information. Our core tasks also include optimising profitability and capital allocation. Our experts prioritise the principles of future development, value orientation, securing of profit and planning security, as well as a sustainable orientation and customer benefits.

Corporate Office
The Corporate Office department of the holding company at VERBUND sheds light on and assesses all legal issues relating to the energy market. This allows the Executive Board to be advised and make decisions on a legally sound basis. The department is divided into three areas:
- Corporate Affairs
- Legal Affairs
- Compliance & Audit.
The Corporate Office thus forms the "legal" backbone of VERBUND. We ensure a consistent position on all regulatory frameworks and compliance with applicable laws.

Corporate Innovation & New Business
At VERBUND, Corporate Innovation & New Business stands for innovations that become visible in the development of a regional and global innovation ecosystem. In exciting collaborations, we focus on the future, acting as facilitators, networkers and implementers. Our diverse spectrum of tasks ranges from building a startup ecosystem and nurturing our internal and external innovation community to establishing corporate startups and VERBUND ventures, through which we accelerate the implementation of the transition to clean energy through equity interests.

Corporate Responsibility
Corporate responsibility is becoming an increasingly important topic for companies. It has always been clear to us that the responsibility of a company, both internally and externally, has a lasting impact on the wellbeing of people and the environment. The Corporate Responsibility department of the holding company at VERBUND is therefore responsible for the further development of our internal sustainability and environmental management. Among other things, we take care of collecting and calculating environmental KPIs, implementing sustainability processes and compiling VERBUND’s sustainability reports.

Communication
In the Communication department at VERBUND, we are responsible for the following tasks:
- Planning and implementing the communication strategy
- Brand and market communications
- Public relations and press work
- Digital communications and content marketing
- Sponsorship activities

Strategic Human Resources Management
Strategic HR Management is developing company-wide initiatives to position VERBUND as a top employer in Austria and our European core markets. The focus of its activities is on the following topics: HR planning and development, HR controlling, recruitment, personnel marketing and employer branding, contract and labour law, occupational pension management, compensation and benefits, and generation management and diversity.
Strategic HR Management lives and shapes the company social partnership at VERBUND together with the Group-wide Works Council.
