We think about hydrogen in the short and long term. In the short term, our focus is on local generation of green hydrogen for direct use by our customers. In the long term, we are working on developing diversified import routes to meet the steep increase in demand for hydrogen. Our team covers the entire value chain: From generating renewable energy in partnerships and producing green hydrogen, to coordinating the necessary infrastructure expansion, all the way to using hydrogen by our buyers, especially those in industry. Green hydrogen is the key to the energy transition and decarbonisation and a pioneering field in which VERBUND plays a huge role.
