VERBUND Energy4Business ensures the energy supply of our corporate customers: from wholesalers and municipal utilities to industry and stock exchanges. But we are not just electricity providers. VERBUND Energy4Business is a visionary, optimiser, service provider and partner, all at the same time. We develop individual solutions for our customers with regard to energy supply, as well as concepts for electromobility and solar power. As experienced partners, we are implementing a decentralised energy system of the future with customised approaches.

Asset Planning

The Asset Planning team at VERBUND Energy4Business has responsibility for the utilisation and optimal marketing of the electricity generated by all VERBUND power plants. In this area, success can be measured by the numbers. Our goal is to achieve the best possible returns with our plants. Far-sighted trading of energy products and optimisation of power plant operations, as well as continuous market monitoring and sophisticated energy data management are the tools for operating our assets as profitably as possible.

Product management

The 2030 transition to clean energy is a shared goal and requires a coordinated effort. That’s why we are moving forward together with our long-standing partners and business customers. To achieve this, we are harnessing the opportunities offered by renewable energy. Thanks to our broad product portfolio, we can respond specifically to the needs of our customers in our front & back office. Our teams in Energy4Business are well positioned to find individually sustainable solutions.

Back Office

The Back Office at VERBUND Energy4Business is the machine room from where we support our business customers. We think outside the box and act as problem solvers and helpers in support of our customers, employees and the Group. We implement a wide variety of processes: from business planning and daily contract processing, to billing, payment processing and project work. In addition to ongoing coordination across departments, we also continuously support the customer portal and participate in many projects.

Sales & Origination

In the Sales & Origination department, we buy and sell complex energy products and offer various services focused on sustainable energy solutions. In addition to the Austrian market, VERBUND Energy4Business is also active in several European countries. Only satisfied customers remain regular customers. That’s why we offer the best possible support and develop suitable supply contracts and flexibility products. Constant market monitoring and competition analyses help us to continue to offer our customers tailor-made solutions in the future.

Operations

The Operations department is the business-related IT department of VERBUND Energy4Business. The department works closely and in constant communication with the specialist departments. In Operations, we support and develop purchased applications. We also program and operate our own applications. The challenges of the future include information security and data protection. We focus on these areas and hold ourselves to the highest standards and quality.

Portfolio management

Portfolio managers at VERBUND Energy4Business market the green energy generated by our daily activities. Our team also flawlessly manages the sale of environmental certificates. The goal of energy independence is front and centre. To make the transition to clean energy with us a reality, we at VERBUND are increasingly focusing on wind power and photovoltaic installations. This is how we are developing green alternatives for the future of the energy market.

Energy Economics

The Portfolio Management & Energy Economics department’s tasks are hedging, asset and industrial customer portfolio management, green electricity issues, quantitative analysis issues and product management. As portfolio managers at VERBUND Energy4Business, we manage the medium to long-term marketing (hedging) of generated energy, coordinate procurement, manage generation and demand portfolios and drive product development – especially in the green electricity segment.

Battery Centre

With large-scale battery storage in Germany, VERBUND is positioning itself as a strong partner for German distribution system operators. Our grid-friendly services in the Battery Centre department help to economically stabilise the distribution network and integrate renewable energy. At Energy4Business, we also support the growing activities in the e-mobility sector. The future of modular electricity storage has only just begun. In combination with the growing number of electric cars, there is enormous potential for smart solutions for the temporary storage of energy.

Centre for Cooperation Management & New Business

In the Centre for Cooperation Management & New Business department at VERBUND Energy4Business, we are dedicated to the product development of various charging solutions. VERBUND Business Charging offers fleet managers an e-mobility solution, including a reporting system that benefits both their own fleet and the private cars of employees, customers and suppliers. We are also planning to introduce VERBUND Property Charging for garage operators and real estate developers. By 2030, we want to become one of the big players in international electromobility with over 150,000 charging points.

Controlling & Risk Management

The Controlling & Risk Management department at VERBUND Energy4Business is responsible for identifying risks and opportunities in the energy market. This is achieved through in-depth analyses of the company’s existing figures and accounting expertise. As an important node for the holding company at VERBUND, this is where strategies and recommendations are defined, which are reflected throughout the company. Only through efficient analyses can scenarios be created that enable VERBUND to look to the future. This is the only way to help shape the transition to clean energy today.
