With our high-performance storage power plants, we at the Kaprun-Salzach power plant group stand ready for security of supply with green electricity – far beyond our borders. A total of nine of VERBUND’s own hydropower plants are serviced in the state from the main site of the Kaprun power plant group. There are also six power plants that are operated with a partner. In addition to managing, monitoring and maintaining installations, our on-site employees also mitigate diruptions in the plants.

This is accomplished through maintenance measures and audits. Our employees in the power plant group service the generator sets and commission new equipment. They work shifts to prevent outages and mitigate technical disruptions. This is the only way to ensure plant availability, including in an emergency.

When difficult weather conditions lead to power plant outages, this can have serious impacts on the electricity supply.
